New Seasons, New Beginnings 🌿

As the seasons change, so do we.

September 2025 marked the beginning of a brand-new chapter for our family. Camille and her daughter Ashley both returned to higher education, something that felt exciting, daunting, and deeply meaningful all at once.

Camille began studying for her FDA in Professional Chef, stepping back into the classroom and into new kitchens, sharpening skills and learning new techniques. Meanwhile, Ashley started her MA in Arts and Education Practices, diving into research around creativity, learning, and something very close to our hearts, community.

It’s taken a few months to find our footing again. Balancing study, deadlines, long days, and running a business hasn’t always been easy. But like any good recipe, sometimes it takes patience, adjustment, and trust in the process.

Learning, Growing, Creating

University has already brought new inspiration.

Camille has been experimenting with techniques and creations that push beyond our usual menus such as delicate, colourful handmade macarons (yes, really!). There’s something magical about going back to basics, refining skills, and rediscovering the craft behind every dish.

Ashley’s research feels just as nourishing, in a different way. She’s exploring how community can be built through growing and cooking food together. How food connects us. How sharing a meal can spark conversation, creativity, and belonging.

It’s a reminder that food has always been more than just what’s on the plate.

What This Means for Cammie’s Kitchen

While we’re learning and growing, one thing hasn’t changed:

Cammie’s Kitchen still serves the same comfort flavours you know and love. The warmth. The heart. The homely classics.

But there may be a few new surprises on the horizon 👀

As we move forward, we hope to bring more of what we’re learning into the kitchen, new techniques, fresh ideas, and perhaps one day, ingredients grown by Ashley and the community she’s working with.

Imagine that: food grown together, cooked together, shared together. That’s the future we’re dreaming about.

Going back to education in a new season of life has reminded us that it’s never too late to grow. Never too late to learn. Never too late to begin again.
